ZOE GARI
String Bass Player, Percussionist, and Music Educator
Zoe Gari has cultivated her musical talents over the past 12 years, starting from her early education through to her current studies at SDSU, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in string bass performance. Her proficiency on the string bass and percussion has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the John Philip Sousa and Semper Fidelis Awards from Valhalla High School.
Zoe’s performance experience is extensive, having played in several ensembles since primary school, and competed in seasons of independent drumline, including with Cornerstone Percussion, Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps, and Dark Sky Percussion. Currently, she contributes to the City Ballet orchestra, and Cuyamaca College’s concert band and wind ensemble under the mentorship of Kevin Gobetz from the San Diego Symphony.
In addition to her performance career, Zoe is committed to music education. She teaches violin to students in the Lemon Grove District and works as an usher at Cuyamaca College’s performing arts program. Zoe aims to specialize in both performance and teaching, hoping to inspire future generations of musicians with her passion and expertise in music.
